• I work from a tranquil room in my home in Lewes. This calm, restful, safe space looks out onto the garden. Parking is available on the drive if needed.

  • Aromatherapy is a holistic complementary therapy that uses plant derived essential oils to promote health and wellbeing. These natural essences are a complex mix of molecules that create their distinctive smell and therapeutic properties. Essential oils enter the body through inhalation or absorption through the skin.

As a clinical aromatherapist, I believe essential oils can nourish our physical, emotional, mental and spiritual well being in a comprehensive way. Aromatherapy has the potential to help support a range of conditions such as muscular aches & pains, fatigue, menstrual pain, pmt, menopausal symptoms and digestive issues, to stress & anxiety. I continue to be in awe of aromatherapy’s potential to gently restore the body’s natural ability to balance and maintain itself.

  • I customise each aromatherapy treatment to suit your specific needs, crafting a unique nurturing experience. Typically it involves a holistic massage, but can also be a facial or foot bath. Sessions can incorporate other therapies to give the optimum results for you, such as reiki and EMMETT technique.

I create aromatherapy blends for self care at home in between treatments. These include:

    • Aromatic sprays

    • Rollerball blends

    • Bath salts

    • Creams

    • Facial oils

    • Diffusion blends

    • Inhaler sticks

    • Compresses

  • Essential oils are volatile and complex aromatic plant extracts. They are naturally produced and stored in the resin, fruit, wood, bark, leaves and roots of plants, trees and grasses. They are mostly extracted by steam distillation and expression. Each essential oil has a unique mixture of many chemical constituents that give their individual therapeutic properties and aromas.

A little goes a long way as essential oils are highly concentrated - approximately 50 - 100 times more potent than the origin plant! Although they are natural, they should be used with caution as they can be toxic or irritating if used incorrectly. Fragrance oils are not essential oils as they are synthetic and unsuitable for therapeutic purposes.

  • I select oils to best support your whole wellbeing, considering all aspects of your mind, body, health history and lifestyle. I apply principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine to identify imbalances related to the Five Elements and choose essential oils that support those disharmonies.

We create a blend of oils that you like either for use in your treatment or for you to use in self care between sessions.

  • Before any treatment, I ask about your physical and emotional wellbeing, diet and lifestyle. You can also ask any questions you might have. The information you share is confidential and helps me choose the best oils for you.

This usually takes about 20 - 30 mins. Subsequent sessions have a shorter consultation.

  • I use the finest grade of organic and wild-crafted essential oils in my practice wherever possible. By sourcing oils from suppliers who work with ethical farmers, in harmony with nature and their communities. Choosing sustainable materials helps protect the fragile environment.

  • Aromatherapy is suitable for most people. My professional training has taught me safe dilutions and contraindications for a range of health concerns, which can be discussed in your consultation.

Sometimes it is necessary to get permission from your GP or consultant if you are receiving treatment for a medical condition.

For those who are more vulnerable (highly sensitive, very young or elderly, or ill), gentle aromatic care can be given using hydrolats. Also known as aromatic waters, these mild are a wonderful option to use.

  • My massage treatments vary depending on your needs. I combine various advanced bodywork techniques and link them with flowing, rhythmical massage strokes (e.g. remedial, holistic, Swedish, Emmett and acupressure). I work intuitively, responding to what I feel during the massage. This way, I can support clients with pain and discomfort, as well as soothe away stored tension.

We discuss massage pressure levels before a treatment to identify your preferences and check in with you during the session to make sure you are comfortable.

  • A massage for some people is a chance to relax, for others it can be a much needed release of muscular tension, or a rare emotional release. I am passionate about providing a safe nurturing space to restore your energy away from the stresses of everyday life. This is your time for your body to receive what you need, reconnect and remind your body how balance feels.

Touch is so vital for our sense of well-being and massage is a wonderful way to achieve this. Therapeutic massage aims to relax tension, promote circulation and lymphatic flow, improve muscle tone and enhance nervous conductivity. Massage is also great for the skin - the largest organ of the body - helping to eliminate toxins, regulating sebaceous gland secretions and improving skin’s absorption. The choice of carrier oils can also enhance the conditioning of the skin.

Massage can also benefit the mind by promoting relaxation and reducing stress. The manipulation of the soft tissues of the body during a massage stimulates the release of feel-good hormones like serotonin and dopamine, which can help improve mood and reduce anxiety.

  • EMMETT Technique is a unique complementary therapy that uses light finger pressure on specific points of the body. It is founded in the belief that light, gentle touch can trigger a relaxation response in the soft tissues of the body. Created by experienced Australian therapist, Ross Emmett, it works as a stand alone therapy but also combines easily with all other bodywork. It can support pain and restricted movement. In addition to supporting pain and restricted movement, I also offer lymphatic sequences and maintenance treatments.

The main focus of the EMMETT Technique is to address and improve body movements.

Typical symptoms that may be assisted include:

    • Back and hip discomfort

    • Neck and shoulder restrictions

    • Lymphatic & sinus congestion

    • Breathing difficulties

    • Migraines and headaches

    • Abdominal discomfort

    • Heel and foot pain

    • Knee and ankle restriction

Many feel more at ease within their body and enhancing their emotional well being.

  • It is thought that the brain receives and evaluates the stimulus from the practitioner's touch and pressure, to initiate the relaxation response in the soft tissue.

Contact me to find out more, or take a look at the EMMETT website.

  • EMMETT is a gentle therapy that uses a light touch, making it beneficial and accessible to clients of any age - from children up to the elderly. It also makes it suitable for many conditions. Please contact me to discuss its suitability for you.

EMMETT treatments can be applied directly to the skin or through light clothing. You can be treated seated, standing or lying down.

EMMETT Technique is not intended to replace or substitute any medical advice or treatment. It is recommended that you consult your General Practitioner about any health concerns.

  • Facial Energy Release is a unique sequence of four facials that gently calms both body and mind, leaving you with a revitalised appearance and a sense of tranquillity.

Precise, gentle fingertip massage work rhythmically over reflex points and meridians to release tension from the connective tissue and muscles of the face, neck, skull and shoulders. Relieving stress that can linger in the face, to create a healthier, hydrated and more rested appearance.

Created by former model, Caroline Josling, it draws from the fascia work of Stanley Rosenberg and Margareta Loughran’s Rejuvanessence facials and offers a natural alternative to invasive procedures. Blissfully relaxing, the hypnotic pace lulls and soothes the body, mind and spirit.

  • Ideally received as a series of four consecutive weekly treatments. Each session focuses on different muscle groups of the face, neck and head. Thereafter, a maintenance session approximately monthly to three monthly, depending on stress levels, affordability and lifestyle.
